While the constitution certainly protects our right to protest…it is peaceful protest it protects…not these barn burning, street sweeping mobs we have to deal with now.
Now, because of what happened over the weekend, the epicenter of it all could see martial law visited on their streets one more time.
St Louis police have been placed on alert there could be violent uprisings after a white cop shot a black teen.
Now the teen shot at the officer first, but that’s not going to matter to these hoodlums.
ST. LOUIS • Police shot and wounded a 14-year-old boy who fired at officers first Sunday morning in the Walnut Park East neighborhood, Police Chief Sam Dotson said.
The shooting was reported about 9:25 a.m. in the 5000 block of Beacon Avenue; the department posted a tweet saying the wounded person was stable at a hospital.
No officers were injured in the shooting.
Dotson told reporters at the scene that officers had been searching for a car taken in a carjacking late last month. After a short pursuit, Dotson said, the officers stopped to try to talk to at least one teen walking on Lillian Avenue. The teen ran off, turned through a vacant lot near the Walbridge Elementary School and fired one shot before officers returned fire.
The two officers involved are white; the teen is black. The teen was in critical but stable condition at a hospital; he was conscious and able to speak. Dotson said witnesses told police they heard the pursuing officers identify themselves as police and order the teen to get down.
Police recovered the teen’s semiautomatic pistol at the scene and were looking for the shell casing in the vacant lot, Dotson said.
“A 14-year-old with a gun I think really goes to the conversation about the epidemic of violence that we have in our community, that a 14-year-old has access to a gun or feels the need to have a gun, and certainly when officers approach, running or pointing that gun at officers, it does nobody in the community any good,” Dotson told reporters. “I think we have a very gun-centric culture right now. We have candidates running for (Missouri) governor that their commercials show them shooting stuff and blowing stuff up. That’s not the message we need to send.”
The police in that area have a tough job, no doubt.
But they’re not doing themselves any favors by demeaning guns and their ability to keep people safe.
The biggest reason we have a gun-centric culture is because people understand their significance in self-protection.
Our second amendment rights shouldn’t be blamed for what gangs and terror groups like BLM are doing, that’s for dang sure.
First off, do you think St Louis is in danger of erupting into chaos, and secondly, are guns to blame?
